Never
I remember the day in sunny may,
'Never to pronounce the D', they say,
Wednesday, in its gloom, says hey,
'Never too late for hellfire', morning said,
My eyes, in longing, didn't know why,
'Never to be blamed', your words misled,
One by one, the lies were easily laid,
"Never would she know", you tried to fool,
Fever, in bouts of cough, all a facade,
"Never to be seen', was what you thought,
Temperature, in its rising, all blame on me,
"Never came a fever", you spuned a tale
Truth, in its triumph, found me years later,
"Never bed-ridden", your socials revealed,
Timestamp, marking it's stead, unveiled,
"Never were you home", lens displayed
Hilltops, sloping in valleys, full in glory,
"Never was it all true", a tangled history.
Lies, in their tarnish, faded away,
"Never again to claim me", a closed story.
